Part of the Contra Costa Library System, the Dougherty Station Library is a shared facility with the neighboring Diablo Valley College campus.
The 11,600 square-foot neighborhood library, which opened in 2005, has dedicated areas for many age levels: young children, teens, college students and adult readers. It features:
- 44 public computer workstation and five wireless points
- collections that support curricula for kindergarten through high school
- recreational reading materials for pre-school through high school
- popular materials and magazines for adults, focused on topics such as gardening, home decorating travel, health and exercise.
When the community college library is built, it will be joined to the neighborhood library, adding 30,000 square feet to the building. This facility will include:
- overall space for studying, quiet reading areas, study rooms
- collections that support subjects pertaining to its curriculum.
Hours
Monday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Tuesday-Wednesday: 12 p.m.-8 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Friday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
